Stop The Violence
Do we really think boycotting or demonstrating or protesting is going to stop the violence, stop the killing of people? Yes, BLACK LIVES MATTER, as do ALL LIVES MATTER. Here in our city, we have blacks killing blacks, whites killing whites, young killing younger, young killing old, old killing young. It’s VIOLENCE. It’s MURDER. It’s WRONG. It needs to STOP.
Also, this is not just an American problem. Look at the violence going on in the Middle East and Europe caused by Isis, but not just Isis. Look at the violence in Sudan and other parts of Africa. What about the sex trafficking of young children, both girls, and boys? What about the young women being turned out as prostitutes and sold as sex slaves?
What is the problem?
2 Timothy 3: 1-5 ESV “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty (are we there, yet?). For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.”
Matt 11:12 ESV “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.”
Proverbs 21:7
“The violence of the wicked will sweep them away because they refuse to do what is just.”
Proverbs 24:2
“For their hearts devise violence, and their lips talk of trouble.”
Does Returning Violence Solve The Problem?
Violence, oppression, hatred, murder has been around since Adam and Eve. Is it right? Absolutely not!! But, it’s a known fact that when you combat violence with violence it creates more violence. Violence Begets Violence!
Where does the problem come from?
Who is really in control of all the violence in this world? Who is the war actually between? The war is between good and evil, God and Satan. Jesus won the war, but Satan hasn’t received his sentence, yet. He’s trying to take as many with him into everlasting darkness as he can. The more people play into his hands the more he takes with him.
If boycotting, demonstrating, returned violence for violence isn’t the answer, then what is?
How do we combat the violence, the racism, the murder?
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
“4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;[b] 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
Solution: Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

The Word says that if “my people”, the Christians, will humble themselves and pray and seek His face, He will heal our land. Also, where there is love racism, oppression, violence, and murder cannot exist.
Statistics say that 83% of Americans identify themselves as Christians. If 83% of Americans, the Christians, were on their faces praying for this country, for the people who are oppressed and are the victims of racism and violence, do you think the violence, the murder, the racism would continue? I don’t think so.
God says if the people who are called by my name, the 83% of Americans, would humble themselves and pray and seek His face, and show love, He would heal our land.
Get Involved
So instead of boycotting, instead of demonstrating, instead of pulling out the guns and weapons, why don’t we have a prayer vigil? Why don’t we start showing love to others and helping those in need? How many of you out there in cyberspace are willing to spend one hour, 30 minutes, 15 minutes, even 5 minutes in prayer for this country, prayer that the racism, the economic oppression, the violence, and the killings would stop?
